Update to the Blog Sidebar

I've added a few features to the Blog Sidebar:
  • Twitter - It's a mini-blogging tool.  Very simple.  It works with phones through SMS, but I'm using it my Flock browser.  I'll post little comments or URL's as I browser the web.  Get an account, it's free.
  • Ma.gnolia bookmarks. - Since I run on so many PC's, I'm now posting my Bookmarks up to the web.  The Ma.gnolia feed will show my latest bookmarks.
  • Stumbleupon - When bored, I Stumble.  The feed on the left will show you the latest Stumbles that I've found cool.

Rebirth Of An Old Laptop

I dusted off an old laptop thats been sitting on my shelf.  A fresh install of XP and it's back in working order.  This machine is going to be used almost strictly for the web.  I won't be installing my typical apps on it, only web necessities.  With that said, I'll run down the list of what I have installed on this machine:
I was toying with doing a dual boot with Ubuntu Linux, but I think that may go against my goal here.  I simply want a fast web browsing laptop.  Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it that way.

From Egg to Chick

Can you imagine the progress from an egg to a chick? It’s amazing to see such progress in pictures. I hope they are not too disgusted to viewers. This is not what we usually seen on tv or magizines.

From Egg to Chick

This will undoubtedly gross you out. And no, they didn't kill a whole bunch of chickys to take these photos. I'm sure it was all done in a petri dish.

NASCAR sponsor to push for switch to ethanol fuel

By Lisa Zagaroli

McClatchy NewspapersWASHINGTON -

One of NASCAR's top sponsors plans to file a formal petition asking that it join other racing leagues and start using ethanol to power its racecars. The recommendation by General Motors Corp., planned for later this year, comes as NASCAR adjusts to using unleaded gasoline, decades behind the commercial marketplace.GM sponsors 22 NASCAR vehicles under its Chevrolet nameplate, about half the vehicles that start any given race. It's been promoting more environmentally friendly fuel for months, and now it plans to proceed with an official presentation to NASCAR ownership."We do have the technical know-how," said Brent Dewar, the vice president of GM North America sales, service and marketing. "It's something we would have to work in conjunction with NASCAR on. NASCAR would have to encourage other manufacturers to do it as well."

McClatchy Washington Bureau | 05/04/2007 | NASCAR sponsor to push for switch to ethanol fuel

Once upon a time, I was a NASCAR fan.  It was before NASCAR became such a pop-culture, show me the money sport.  Now, it feels like I'm watching a soccer mom's sport.  I'll hang on to that rant for later.

Chevy is waking up to reality.  Move to ethanol, which is used in so many other sports.  For years, going back to when I was a viewer, Environmental groups have snubbed NASCAR for running leaded fuel.  Now they are changing to unleaded.  Why not just make the jump to ethanol and advertise the benefits of the fuel.  Oh yeah, it's all about the money now.
